Utilizing indigenous Native American ceremonies and its culture, The Half Moon Community is a grassroots community working to help disadvantaged people become empowered.
We contribute to fighting poverty and circumstances on many reservations and in the local DFW metroplex. Regularly, we deliver fruit to the homeless of downtown Dallas. We have assisted a grandma on the Rosebud Reservation who was raising 6 grandchildren on $600 a month social security. Through our community efforts we assisted her with groceries, electric bills, clothes, shoes and rent.
We are a small organization who honor the ceremonies and traditions of the Native American Ceremonial Way of Life. In addition, we attempt to contribute and help our local community through service and kindness.
We have sponsored disadvantaged youth attend the State Fair of Texas as a reward for responsible behavior and good grades aside from the ticket they receive from school the kid(s) have received cash money to buy things with at the Fair.
We are always ready and willing to help in the ways we are able based upon our resources.
When we have the resources, during the holiday season we collect toys and clothing for the disadvantaged people of the metroplex and the Native American reservations. One year we accepted donations of old computers from a Dallas law firm to help provide computers for schools located on Native American reservations.
We are a diverse group who have come together and try to make the world a better place. If you are interested in contributing to this cause, please feel free to write choctawwind@yahoo.com.
